Wow, it's so hard to believe that it has been almost two full months since I've done a post to this blog. The summer sure has a way of keeping me busy. Well enough of that now on to my inspiration. As most of you know I'm a tom boy not a girlie girl. I don't get into shopping for clothes, shoes, make-up or nail polish. Recently I was inspired. I found these cute flip flops. As you can see they're camouflage (my favorite color). So naturally I had to have them.

Then came the inspiration .... If I had a pair of girlie flip flops I should probably paint my toe nails. That meant I need to buy some polish. Should I get white, brown or green. (Insert light bulb here) I know I'll paint them camo!!!! Finley I found a way to be girlie and myself at the same time.

You should have seem my husband helping me pick out polish. I wish I would have taken a picture of him in the make-up aisle with several shade of polish in his hands. Oh well.

Here is my Cover Page Challenge. This one was really fun. I think everyone should try it. I did another digi page. This time I made it on it's side and then rotated it after it was done. I was unable to rotate background paper until it was saved, so if that happens to you save the background first.

Here is my Blue Collar Comity Challenge. I chose to use Larry The Cable Guy as my inspiration. You know I never thought I would ever say that.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to use Larry the Cable Guys "That's funny" or "Git-R-Done" then I took this picture and I knew I could use both. There is no names on the picture to protect the innocent (and the guilty too).

Please don't hate me, I just couldn't help myself.

I would like your input on MP3 players. Looks like I'm getting one for my B day coming up and I get to pick it out. I want to download tunes from the internet, from my pc and from music I already have on CD's. I haven't had one before so I am wondering what mp3 players you all have and what do you love and what do you hate about it. I would appreciate you help. Thanks.

May Week 3 -Challenges

Calendar - This is my attempt at the calendar challenge. I believe the back ground paper and flower are from Fancy Pants, all other paper is unknown from my stash. Title from American Crafts Thickers, Rivets are from Stampin' Up, and denim circle from a pair of my old tattered and now holey jeans. I hope that the right way to spell holey, meaning with holes I'm not trying to be irreverent.

Flowers - This was a quick digi page I did in a hurry on Thursday.

Update - Sorry again these are late. I had a reaction to some of the local anesthesia used during the test. I got an immediate migraine, my sinuses filled with fluid so I also had a sinus headache. My had so much pressure in my head that my eyes were constantly watering, my nose was like a hose, and all my teeth ached. I could feel each and every tooth throbbing. All this on top of that migraine. Basically I was miserable. To top it off I went to the test alone, so I had to drive my self home. I was never so glad to get home. I'm feeling a little better. The migraine is gone, my teeth stopped throbbing and my sinuses are starting to drain. Now I just feel like I have head cold and I look like Rudolph. The good news is that there is no blockage in my throat and my voice box is fine. Earlier test showed I have a hernia, acid reflux and a dysfunctional esophagus. So with a little acid controller, some weight loss and a few lifestyle changes it can get things under control.

Sorry I didn't get my challenges posted by the deadline. I did the Flower challenge and the calender challenge. They are done but things are not going well for me right now. Had a test preformed today that didn't go as planned. Had the test done in the Dr s office this afternoon and I'm having a reaction to the meds used in the test. I'll be fine but for now I'm not feeling well. More details later and I post as soon as I can.

I want to thank you all for participating in the April challenges. You are all such an inspiration!

The G.P. is a "Braggables Bag" with some scrapping goodies inside. I bought this bag in Feb. (and bought another style for myself, of course). On of the so called goodies in the bag is a bunch of patterned paper. I must admit these papers are some of my white elephants. I new you all were so good with challenges that I decided who ever won them would know just what to do with them. They now belong to the winner, so she can do with them as she pleases (use them, trash them, make challenges with them or even make confetti out of them). April Challenge - week 4 Inspired by a board game

Inspired by a board game – Do a layout that is inspired by a board game. Example: you could use a checkerboard background, you could embellish a page with a game piece or monopoly money, or you could do a page about your family’s game night. Let your imagination run wild.

I was inspired by the game "clue" when I was a little girl. I loved the thought of a house with hidden passages and having a mystery to solve. Patterned papers are from Stampin' Up, Fancy Pants, Card stock from Stampin' Up, adhesive from Xyron. I must confess the photos were not taken by me...but they captured the correct feeling I was looking for. I don't know who the photographers are but whoever you are ...Thank you!

What you may not know about me is that I grew up being scared on a regular basis. My father and his siblings grew up in a haunted house so they always enjoyed scaring the tar out of us kids, so the thought of a spooky house was normal to us. Maybe that should be the subject of my "It runs in the family page"

April Challenge - Week 3 Wordle

Wordle- Do a layout using a wordle. If you are unfamiliar with wordle, it’s a group of words displayed in a random order to form a word cloud. You can see my first attempt on my “46 rolls” lo (posted on my blog on February 22, 2009). I have used the IBM wordle website at http://www.wordle.net . It’s super easy!

I'm sharing my incomplete wordle layout. There will be a pic on the black mat and three pics on the dotted strip. I'll share my finished lo in the next fer days. The supply list is simple. Paper is from Stampin' Up, Adhesive from Xyron and every thing else is form American Crafts (Thickers). In the past I wordled at the above mentioned site, printed it on card stock and added to my layout. This time I just went to my Thicker stash and let things fly.

This lo is for Pope Creek Archery's spring shoot. We shoot once a week for six weeks and it starts tomorrow evening. Soooooo........ I'll have pics late tomorrow night to complete this lo.
I'm not going to have my normal partner "Ginger" this time and I'm sure going to miss her. :0( She stuck by me last year when I was absolutely horrible. I thinks she just needs a break from me :0, but she says she has a conflicting commitment with her daughter. So for this shoot my husband is going to be my partner and Ginger and I will be a team again in the fall.

April week 3- Monochromatic page

A Monochromatic page – Do a layout using different shades of the same color. Example: baby blue, sky blue, navy blue and midnight blue. You can use one neutral color (white or brown or black). No other colors are allowed.

Here's my take on the monochromatic challenge. I did use brown as my neutral. This page is of my husbands paternal grandmother (Megans Great Grandmother). I think she was beautiful.

The papers are from SandyLion , Stampin'up and Walmart. The ribbons are Fancy Pants, flowers are Bazzill, Thickers from American Crafts, and the buttons are from my Grandmas sewing stash.

I will put the journaling in the folder after I get done with my genology reasearch on Hubbies ansestors.

With the scraps from my lo I did another 6x6 for my "100 things I Love" album (remember the Peeps Bunny page). This photo was taken at my grandmothers house. They tell me I was telling my little cousin why she would need a purse when she got big like me.

April Challenge week 2 - A page without PP

A Page with out Pattern Paper, unless you make it your self – Do a lo that starts with only solid color paper. You can leave it solid or you can turn it into patterned paper by stamping, doodling, painting, printing, etc.to turn it into you very own designed pattern paper.

I had fun with this one. While watching TV I did a little playing with markers. I felt like a little girl again. Every thing is done free hand. Parts are scrap lifted and parts are embellishment opportunities. The paper (solid of course) and the markers are all Stampin' Up. Colored staples are from my desk and the star brad and large Rick rack are from the stash. On the far right side of the layout there is a wheel that spins so the word in the window can be changed. There are words like insanity, clumsiness, embarrassment, goofiness and others. I plan to display this on my desk and change the picture and word as we do crazy things.

Oh by the way the week one winner has been drawn. I haven't taken the picture of the prize yet so I'm going to make you wait until this afternoon to find out who the winner is and what they have won. Sorry I'll be better prepared next week.

April Challenge - Tags

This layout will go into a book I'm making for my parents 50th Anniversary. Is a simple page using multiple tags. Papers are KaiserCraft, Pixie Press, K&Company and unknown from the stash. "Close to Cocoa" and "Bliss Blue" ink from Stampin' Up, ribbon from Stampin' Up and Offray. The embellishments are from K&Company, and of course Thickers from American Crafts.

I used this picture because it was taken the week after they were married (I've already used their wedding photos in another lo) and Mom really likes this picture.

March challenge - Bonus #9 material thing

Here's my attempt at the last March challenge. It's a 6x6 page for a mini album of things I love. I just couldn't help myself after this last trip to the grocery store. The patterned paper, card stock, ribbon and ink are all Stampin' Up. There's a little Stampin' Up chunky glitter on one of the bunnies, I thought it looked like sugar. Flowers are Bazzill and the brad is from the stash. I used the design runner and Disk maker on the ribbon to say "Live, Laugh & Eat Bunnies". Woo Who, I got them all done! I was just minding my own business in grocery shopping at HyVee when I was surrounded by marshmallow bunnies. They just kept jumping into my cart, one after another. They just wouldn't leave me alone until I agree to take some of them home. I made a promise to those bunnies left behind. I'll try to help them all get good homes. So please, be aware there are homeless soft little peeps out there that need a good home. Lets not let them get old just sitting on selves. I'm partial to the yellow bunnies and I plan to do my part. Welcome to the April Challenge

Aprils thirty days are split between a partial week, three full weeks and another partial week. So I decided to change things up a bit. Each set of challenges start on Wednesday and end the following Tuesday, with the exception of week four ending on Thursday. There will be two challenges per week. I have included two bonus challenges. They can be done at any time throughout the month as a bonus or they both can be used as a substitution for one challenge you don’t like. Did you see the catch? If you want to remove a challenge you don’t like you must do both bonus challenges in its place.

Week #1 (April 1-7)

Tags – Do a layout that includes multiple tags.

Inspired by a quilt pattern – Do a layout that uses a quilt pattern or has a quilt feel.

Week #2 (April 8-14)

Nine in One – Do nine 4x4 layouts that are added together to make one 12x12 lo. This idea came from the following lo. I saw it in “Simply Handmade”designed by Stephanie Pouliot. I think it’s awesome. I can’t wait to see what we all can do with her idea.

March Challenge - #4 Handcut or Handcreate

This is a picture of my Uncle Claude, Aunt Ava, My Dad, My Uncle Ed and Uncle Oscar. They grew up in hard times but they sure liked to have fun. This was taken the next to last time they were all together. My Uncle Claude has since passed away and my other two uncles are not doing well so this picture of them all laughing together is very special.

The pp is from the Paper Studio, card stock from Bazzill, Thickers from American Crafts, buttons from the stash and the3 crotchet flowesr are handmade by me. You may have noticed, I used a tempting turquoise Stampin' Up marker and went around the thickers to add depth to the lo (it also helps the brown thickers stand out on the pp).

March Challenge - #7 scrap your fears

There's more I would like to do to this layout but it's just to creepy with those spiders crawling all around. As you can see one of my fears is spider (any and all spiders). I hate them. I hate them. I hate them. Just in case I didn't make myself clear, I hate Spiders!!!!!! As a child I had recurring nightmares about them. I also had family that would catch spiders and put them in my clothing. OK, enough about the S word, now my other fear is of going blind. I am a very visual person and I can't imagine what living in the dark would be like, nor would I ever want too. Because of this fear I take very good care of my eyes. I have annual exams and I am a nut about using eye protection. Had a thought while thinking about this lo. If I ever was without my eyesight (God forbid), I wouldn't have to look at another spider again. I guess it's all in how you look at thing.

I realize that spring has sprung and soon we will be all very busy. This is went I normally let my crafting take a back seat (truthfully I completely abandon it until fall). March Challenge #10 - Newest purchase

My newest purchases are the patterned paper from k i memories and more Thickers. This photo could have also been used as unflattering (because I have so many of those) but I have already done that challenge. You can read the journalling if you would like, I have it just below the lo pic.

When we were first married we would throw Aprils Fools Day parties. One year we threw a “come as you wouldn’t want to be caught dead” party.

Dennis dressed as a hippie. He wore a long black wig, bell bottoms, tie-died shirt, beads and tattoos that he drew on with mascara.

I wore everything mismatched, flowers and plaids, my makeup was different on each eye and lip, my hair was teased and I was chewing twelve pieces of gum at once.

Our party guests asked not to have their pictures taken because they had outrages outfits on. After all these years, one of them still stands out. It was Bugs. He came in a powder blue leisure suit, flowered shirt unbuttoned half way, glitter all over his chest and way to much cologne.

One family make sure they drove on back roads so no one would see them while the wife prayed they wouldn’t have a breakdown or flat tire. We had a blast!

Wow It's hard to believe another week has come and gone. Only one more week in march and I have to get my two lo's and two bonus lo's done. I think I can do it. At last our taxes will be done by mid week, and I'm sure looking forward to that.

Here is my heritage challenge page. It's a page about my Grandma. She's gone now and this is something I never talked to her about. I mean I told her I loved her but she never wanted to talk about her struggles of raising her children. She would say "Let's not worry about the past, lets concentrate on today because today it full of possibilities." She was amazing! Digi supplies were from Scrapblog.com. By the way Grandma loved Black-eyed-Susan's, so I had to add them to the page and she sewed all their clothes. Told you she was amazing!

You have learning more about me than you ever expected and here is some more. My list is about some of my collections. I have this problem you see, I'm a pack rat and I like things. I like things that are a bargain and that speak to me. My collections are of no real value, except to me. OK. back to the lo. Instead of listing my collections on a piece of paper and placing it in the lo, I decided to use my list as a pp. All the paper used are from Fancy Pants and every thing else is from the stash.

My lo is titled"The Rest Of Mine" from the song by Trace Adkins. I just love this song. You can hear it on my play list.

The papers are from K&Company; the title is Thickers (of course); Rub-ons from Stampin' Up; brads and flowers are from the stash. The Thickers are/were white. I sponged on close to cocoa ink from Stampin' Up and then I stamped the with the same ink using a Heidi Grace Dreamer stamp.

Boy oh boy, we look really young in these pics. Probably because we were young in these pics (twenty three plus years ago). Did I ever mention that my husband as these amazing dimples?

Feb challenge - Week 4 the me you might not know

Today's challenge was to "scrap something about yourself that not everyone know". When I read about this challenge two thing came to mind right away, so I might do another page about this later. Well today's page is about my love for old cemeteries, that's old cemeteries not new funerals. I did not resize the photo, so if you would like to see the journaling you can single left click on the pic to make it larger.

For inspiration I used Pink sketch #14, that I turned on it side. The pp is from K&Company's Blue Awning collection; mulberry paper, ribbons, button and flower from my stash, chipboard wings from Fancy Pants' the Daily Grind collection and last but not least Thickers.

This is a lo I did for Christina's November club sketch challenge. I finally got around to getting permission to post this from the girls or their parents/family. It's a simple 2 page lo with a little bling.

I plan to add the details of Skyler's hunt on the inside of the flap.

I sure am proud of these girls and I'm planning to expand the lo with more pics this year.

Feb Challenge - Week 2 my space

Here is a quick LO of my scrapping space (spaces). My "stuff" is in four rooms, Living room, office, kitchen and a storage room. It's not very convenient running from room to room but it's my space for now. Yes, I did get my Valentines gift a little early, Woo-Hoo! It's not full yet but come this weekend it will be. In the picture it looks like its hung a little to high but I needed to have room to lift the printer lid.

I bought this old tool box at a auction and I love it. It has a brass tag that says "Bloomington, Illinois" on it ( and that's a special place to me). Someday I'm going to use it as a blanket chest but for now it's used for scrapping and stamping supplies.

Scrapping space, better late than never

During our Jan. Challenge Megan asked us to post pictures of our scrapping space. Well I'm finally showing you mine. Paying bill, working on the computer, using the phone, stamping and scrapping all happen in this tiny spot. This is not a space to be proud of, but for now its all I've got. My supplies are stored here, there, and every where in any number of boxes and bags. I do have eight of those storage cubes in the living room, but you need to move some small furniture to access them.

We were discussing this very thing over the weekend. As it stands now we are planing to work on a crafting space upstairs this coming summer. I've heard this before so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The space I'll be using is presently an unheated, uninsulated storage room. We will need to tear everything out to the studs. I'm ready!!!

Feb. challenge - Week 1 Style (old)

I like this challenge, all I had to do was show an old LO. I started scrapbooking in May 2007 so I could document vintage photos. I had been gatherings supplies for a couple of years. I just didn't have the courage to start until Megan started giving us a sketch challenge at her Stampin' Up club. Here are my first three LOs. They were done as a gift to my Mom.

Done on May 17, 2007 for my Mom about her Mother. The oval with the beads is a broach I made with a photo of my Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

This was done June 10, 2007 for my parents Forty-eighth Anniversary. (This year will be their Fiftieth)

Day 31.... Can you believe it? I think we're all champions so I changed my play list in celebration.

Today's page is "Women in the Outdoors". I have been admiring Megan's titles and decided to use one of her ideas. Sorry about the bad pics of the lo. If I have time tomorrow I may try to replace them with better pics. It started out as one page then it grew to two. I know they don't match. I'm trying to break my matchy matchy thing. Papers and chip board embellies are from Fancy Pants "daily grind" collection. The bling is from Walmart. The title is made from Thickers and an old label maker (credit to Megan).

The next "Women in the Outdoors" event is May 16th at the Rock Island Conservation Club, so mark your calenders.

Well I'm cutting it close tonight. This is another Mt Pleasant page. The last few years there's been a steam fire engine on display. The firemen that restored it did a wonderful job. My dad said this was the most beautiful restoration job he has ever seen. Paper and Embellishments are from Fancy Pants "The Daily Grind" collection, brads and paper clip form my desk, and title is thickers. Yes, I finally got to try thickers. Black thickers on black paper not the best idea, so I added dots with a white Signo Pen from Stampin' Up. I want to add some doodling (spelling) but I'm tired so I decided not to risk it.

The first time I saw this paper it reminded me of outer space. So I had to use it with a couple of my eclipse pics. The paper is from Cloud9, the Rub-ons are from Stampin' Up. The buttons could be from anywhere. By the way, the next total lunar eclipse will be Dec. 21, 2010.

Challenge - Day 25 Rubber Stamps revisited

I already posted my stamping challenge but I realized I did it on Jan 18th, one day early. Here's another one. Glad I realized it. Today I did an 8x8 page about the cat. With out children you use your pets. I did a digital layout and an acrylic overly with stamps. The digi stuff came as part of Photoshop. The acrylic sheet came from Ben Franklin, StazOn ink, and the stamp sets (Cold Play and Inspired By Nature) are Stampin' Up.

I found it hard to photograph the acrylic s sheet, sorry.

Today I finally made books for my mom and myself. They have a place to record specials dates like birthdays and anniversaries. Mom wanted hers to be simple, gray and white with a splash of color. Hope she likes it. Mine is move vintage. Papers are Best Occasions from Walmart (Moms) and Kaisercraft (made is Australia - Mine). Embellishments were from my stash except for the butterfly from EK Success. I bound the books using the "Bind-it-all" machine.

Challenge - Day 23

Not much to say about today's layout except the photos were taken during various walks. The papers used were from Best occasions (Walmart). I chose papers with very little pattern so that the photos would stand out. The stickers are from Cloud 9. I used a little + sign in the middle, but I need to find a large"and" sign ( the kind that looks like a backwards 3).

Photos in the layout are much clearer than they appear. It's hard to tell but the papers used are black and gray.

Some pages come easier than others, and today's page was a fun one. I printed a few pictures from my husbands 50th, and narrowed the paper selection down to to a few papers. Since it about the big 5...0... , I decided to ask DH to make the final paper choice. I think he did a good job! He said blue is his fav color and this paper looker like a celebration. Paper is from Fancy Pants, Rub-ons from Stampin' Up, and the curly things were cut by my Cricut machine. Yes, "curly things" is a technical term. The journaling is printed on a transparency, from Hammer Mill.

To Christiana's clubbies...Did you notice the club sketch. Can you believe it? I normally wait and do it the week of club.

My plan for today was to do a birthday page. As I started to put away the "Mr. Campy" paper, I couldn't help myself. So here is another camper page. This time I tried EDS. Maybe tomorrow I'll get inspired and do a B.day page. I used Cosmo Cricket's My Campy paper and blackboard, of course. The Xyron EDS page protectors can be purchased from your local "I Remember When" demonstrator .

I love taking pictures of mirror and window reflections. You can get some really cool images.

Challenge - Day 20 eyelets

Today's page is my attempt at the eyelet challenge. I got the idea from a sales brochure for KaiserCraft. So I scrap lifted the parts I liked and added some of my own. My DH and I caved this year. Yes, we bought a used camper. We still love tent and tipi camping but at 3:00 am, it's sure nice to have your own bathroom!!! I used "Mr. Campy" paper and black board from Cosmo Cricket, eyelets and a rub-on letter from Stampin' Up, and I used my new fantastic wonderful "Big Bite" from Crop-A-Dile to set the eyelets. Two of the photos are in black and white because their colors clashed big time with this paper.

Thanks Christina for this challenge. It forced me to open the "Big Bite" and give it a try.

Frustration

I spent the last four hours trying to get my post up loaded. I've been having this trouble since I started using larger photos. It's very frustrating to spend more time fighting the upload than I spent on the page I'm trying to post. Did a speed test on my Internet connection. Things are fine there,so the large photos may have to go. Any one else having this problem? So much for my day off.

Challenge - Day 18, Rubber Stamps

During Christmas I did a modified version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" for my husband. During the twelve days he received items for his/our hobbies. Things like beads, buffalo hair pines, and tin cones (to use while making things for our tipi). Bobber stops for fishing. Knocks for bow shooting. I did a little research and found the 12 days of Christmas started after sundown on Dec. 25 and continued until the Day of Epiphany. I thought I'd make a book for him. There are fourteen pages that are stamped with pine boughs and some with pine cones. The paper patterned paper in from Cosmo Cricket, the card stock from Ben Franklin (?), ornaments were cut with my Cricut. I also use my Bind-it-all machine for the first time. Is was soooooo easy.

Challenge - Day 17 Chistmas and Favorites

Once again today's page is a twofer. It is my Christmas and my favorite manufacture page. This page is about my favorite Christmas gifts. I really can't choose which one the best. I love them all. Please notice the tag on the Cricut. It's the actual tag my Mom had on my package. Cool, right? Now for my favorites: Paper - Cosmo Cricket (look at the bottom of the page), Adhesive - Xyron, Transparencies - Fancy Pants, Stamps and Stamp pads - Stampin' Up, Printer - HP Photosmart C8180, and and of course my new Cricut Expressions Machine. I do want to admit that my favorite paper manufacture changes often. There are so many wonderful papers out there.

Challenge - Day 16

Today I've taken the easy way out. I knew I would be running short on time (this is club night at Christinas) so I did something super simple. While my club snack was in the oven I took one of those pre-cut kits and made twenty four 8x8 pages. The paper kit came from Wally World's clearance isle. Cheap cheap cheap. I'm thinking about giving them to my Mom, with an album, some letter stickers and embellishments. Maybe I can get her hooked on scrapbooking too.

Once again sorry about the poor photo. Indoor photography is not my thing, but let me outdoors and I do fine. Hopefully over the weekend I can get my projects done so I can photograph them in natural light.

Challenge - Day 15

Hi, anyone enjoying the weather? I am. I know I'm a little strange. I think this is so invigorating. You know your alive when you step out into below zero temps. Don't get me wrong I think it's really cold outside, but I like the cold better than hot summer days.

Day fifteen ... My pages today are missing the journaling. I'm going to use my white sigma pen directly on the black area next to the ribbon/button. So I going to check into some of my facts. I don'twant to get something wrong. I used my new Cricut machine to cut the title. Woo Who! That cricut is one of my new favorites. :o)

It's hard to believe, but we're almost half way through the challenge. I'm doing better than last year. Fifteen down only sixteen to go!

Challenge - Day 14

I really enjoyed doing today's pages. It was so much fun because the day these pics were taken we had a great time. It was great weather and so relaxing. So many of our days are busy busy. This day we went to a park between Buffalo and Muscatine. It's a really neat park. This coming summer you all need to pack a lunch, load up the family or just the hubby and go there (with out the cell phone). You'll enjoy yourselves. We sure did. Oh back to business...I love the embelly that says " Have passport will travel". We don't go anywhere that requires a passport, and this was the most exotic place we travel to this year (there was some sand and water) so I had to use it.

Once again I had trouble with my lighting indoors, so the pics of the layout are washed out. The top half of the bottom photo show the correct color. Sorry! Manufacturers are Stampin'Up, Heidi Grace, Memory Markers, Fancy Pants, and unknown.

Do I yammer on to much? Some times I wonder. Oh by the way the right page is my sketch for club. I bet your wondering "how did she get from the sketch to this". OK, somebody stop me.

Did you notice the mailing address according to the sign? Iowa Post Office, Blackhawk Purchase, Wisconsin Territory....can you imagine. I love it, the history that is. Ok, somebody slap me. My excuse.....sugar buzz.

Challenge - Day 13 Rub ons

Today's page meets the rub on challenge. Word of warning - when you drop a rub on on a wet picture they stick. : O This is a page for my hubby. We do so many things together that we're almost the same person, except he's good looking, tall, thin, smart and strong. The photo I used it not very good but you use what you've got. Paper-wally world, chipboard sticker- Heidi Grace, title-Cosmo Cricket, and rub ons-Stampin' Up .

The color is correct in the bottom photo.

Today was a sad day. My husbands Aunt Hazel past away and today was her funeral. See was a very special lady. One of those people that light up a room. She always had time for everyone and she had the most sparkly eyes and inviting smile. Aunt Hazel, we miss you already.

Life goes on....
Here is a page about our cat Squeeker ( yes, double e's). This time she's dry and happy, doing what cats do best - anything they want. When I'm spazzing out just having her sitting next to me purring does wonders for the old blood pressure. Ribbon and background paper are from Stampin' Up. The rest of the supplies are from swaps, manufacturers unknown.

Sorry about the poor photo quality. Almost didn't get this posted on time. Had computer connectivity issues. Working now, Yeah! :o) Twelve down, nineteen to go.

Challenge - Day 11

I was inspired by a lady who puts notes in her children's lunch boxes. So I decided to give it a try. I made 58 "love notes" and this tin to keep them in. I'm going to stash a love note to my husband, once a week for a year. Yes I can count, I made a few extras. After I write the love note ( on the back side) I'm going to put them in places like: sock drawer, medicine cabinet, fridge, you get the idea. I left them so I can make additions to them though out the year as my tastes change. I'm even going to put photo's on some as the year goes along. Paper, ink, stamps, and rub ons are from Stampin' Up. Every thing else is unknown, form the stash.

Just trying to decide if I should start now (for 2009) or wait until Valentines Day. Might be neat to give two sets to a newly married couple. One for him and one for her. To get him, I mean them started off right.

Today I tried digital scrap booking at a "Scrapbog.com". The page is about my dad. I think it looks good for a first attempt at that new fangelled digital stuff. Then I encountered a problem. Challenge - Day 9

This project was a breeze, because tonight I went to a local Stampin' Up club and this was one of our projects. It a large fridge magnet (8.5x 11). I think it's a neat idea. Way to go Missy R. (She's one of our local demonstrators). I came home from club added some stamping to the background and this picture of my Mom's great grand parents and their children. I also printed pictures from my Dads and my husbands families. I think I'll change the pic every month. The supplies are Stampin' Up of course.

I wish I would have printed the family surname on the pictures. I hope this counts, because after all I made it myself.

Challenge - Day 8

This year in the middle of our dining table we had a Charlie Brown tree. Anyone could add anything they wanted as long as it reminded them of something we did together in 2008. It was a lot of fun to see things being added day after day. What a great way to relieve those memories. This page is made from Cosmo Cricket paper, Xyron adhesive , Pop Dots and brads from my stash. This also is a make up page for last months scrap club challenge.

Eight down and twenty-three to go, but who's counting? I can feel the mojo. I wish I had more time to do this, and less housework. How about you?

Challenge - Day 7, ugly paper day #2

I struggled with this one. I had a real block when it came to this paper. A couple of years ago I received it in a swap, and have tried using it many time. I always ended up putting it back in my stash. Woo who, I have finally used it (well part of it anyway). Here is what the paper looked like.

The title was cut on a Xyron PCS machine using Special Edition 1 Baby shapes and fonts . The manufacture is unknown on every thing else. Glad to be using things from my stash. Just so you know the cat in the pictures is a really pretty cat when she's dry and happy.

I'm still having fun. Seven down and twenty four to go.

Challenge - Day 6, chipboard and letter sticker day

Today's project is t twofer. I used letter stickers and chipboard. I even used EDS pages. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. I have to admit, it was fun and I am done much earlier than usual. I used Cosmo Cricket papers and chipboard. The letter stickers are from Making Memories. I need to finish the journaling later (on the 4x6 area with the eye balls). I received word that my Internet provider is doing an upgrade tonight and I was unsure exactly when and how long my connection might be down. So I'm playing it safe and doing it now while I still can.

I just might try using EDS pages again.

I can check another one off the list. Day five is history. Today's layout is about my husband and me getting in some indoor range time. We really had a great time, and we did pretty good. Challenge - Day 4, ugly paper day

I'm hurrying to get this posted as day four comes to a close. We've been partying with my family for my dads 70th birthday. Dad had lots of fun and didn't want it to end. We got home at 11:30 pm, so I'm going as fast I as can. (Watch out spell check, cause here I come.) The project was done but this posting is a little after the deadline. Please forgive me for my tardiness, or Pardon my caboose. While at the party I decided the perfect use for my ugly paper scraps. I turned them into confetti. Now I'm ready for the next surprise party. All supplies were from Stampin' Up with the exception of the ribbon and the ugly paper. I'm not disclosing the paper manufacture because they make really pretty papers most of the time.

I feel that this is a cheater way of using my ugly paper so I saved some for another project.

Challenge - Day 3

Yeah! Day 3 of the challenge and I've really enjoying this (so far). Today my project is a page about one of my great nieces. She was so cute on Christmas day. I hope you enjoy it. I used paper from Stampin' Up, American Crafts and Memory Keepers. My journaling was done on a transparency sheet. It was surprisingly easy. You all should try it. Pardon my caboose - but if you read the journaling you will find a mistake. I didn't notice it until I was getting ready to do this post. Yes, I do know about spell check and I even used it. I'm not proud but I have this talent of confusing spell check. Oh well, I hope you like it anyway.

Challenge - Day 2

Day two of our challenge is almost over. So I thought I had better post my scrapbook page. I hope you enjoy it. I love winter and I thought this picture was so pretty that I wanted to do something special with it. I am happy with how it came out except for the journaling. Don't be surprised if I change that. I prefer to journal on the computer with a nice font to my handwriting anytime. Plus there is that nifty thing called spell check.

Blog talk - Today my caboose bumped into three things. I have decided to keep track, in hopes the embarrassment will motivate me into doing something about it. You will find a list on the left side of my posts.

I would like to wish you all a Happy Healthy New Year.

In this new year of 2009 I have had several firsts already. This is my first blog, and my first post. Things in this blog are very basic right now. As I learn the terms and have time to play I hope things will get better.

Another of my firsts is my day one entry for the January 2009 scrapbooking challenge. What is a January 2009 scrapbooking challenge you ask. Well it all started with the 2008 Big Picture challenge that Christina, Megan, Stacy and I took part in. We did 31 scrapbook layouts in 31 days. We all survived. Now that 2009 has rolled around we have decided to try it on our own, with some new gals (Alyssa, Mary,Sherry and Stephanie) and new rules. This year you can do scrapbooking, card making or other types of paper crafts. Christina has also added some challenges and prizes. I would like to say welcome to the new gals, this is going to be fun.

I was planning on doing a scrapbook page but was asked to help my husband learn a couple of software programs today. So..... pardon my caboose, I did a card instead. The card is for my Dad's upcoming 70th birthday. So it's a twofer.

Wasn't my dad cute when he was five? I think he's still cute or should I say handsome as he approaches 70.
